The Bauhaus is a Los Angeles-based design and fabrication studio specializing in architecture, ceramics, and furniture. Founded in 2024 by Joshua and Jacob—graduates of the University of Pennsylvania School of Design and Temple Tyler School of Art and Architecture—the studio explores the intersections of fine art, craftsmanship, and industrial design. Inspired by the avant-garde principles of the Bauhaus Movement, The Bauhaus reinterprets its philosophy for a contemporary context through built projects and research-driven design. With an interdisciplinary approach, the studio investigates form, materiality, and technology, embracing collaboration to advance sustainable and innovative design practices.
The studio’s work has been recognized in international competitions and leading design publications. In 2024, The Bauhaus was featured in ArchDaily for its MICROHOME International Design Competition entry and highlighted in Voyage LA Magazine’s Inspiring Stories series, which showcases emerging creatives and entrepreneurs. The studio has also been featured in Bold Journey Magazine, Paste Magazine and Top Road’s Humans of AI and is set to appear in Architectural Digest in 2025. Beyond its built work, The Bauhaus remains engaged in academic and cultural discourse. The studio’s projects have been exhibited at the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University, reflecting its commitment to the ongoing evolution of architectural ideas. Balancing traditional craftsmanship with contemporary fabrication techniques, The Bauhaus continues to explore new ways of shaping the built environment.
